Child labour continues to be a global issue, and infringes on the rights of tens of thousands of children. In most developing countries the phenomenon is quite evident, but in developed countries, although perhaps more obscured, the problem is far from solved. Poverty and lack of education are the two primary reasons for the ever-growing social malice of child labour. Parents in the poverty zone of society give birth to moneymaking machines and not children.

The problem of child labour continues to pose a challenge before the nation. Government has been taking various proactive measures to tackle this problem.  However, considering the magnitude and the extent of the problem and that it is essentially a socio-economic problem inextricably linked to poverty and illiteracy, it requires concerned efforts from all sections of the society to make a dent in the problem.
